My speech 2021

WALT Speech writing

My speech 2021 - Te Wheke. Reo

Attention grabber

Good morning.

Do you know how many babies an Octopus can have at one time?

Would you believe between 20,000 [twenty thousand] and 100,000

[one hundred thousand]! Oh my gosh!

Introduction

The Wheke also known as the Octopus is an amazing sea animal. It has so many

special

features I will tell a few things about the Wheke I found interesting,

The Octopus is a  super fast swimmer. Octopus have a beak and not a mouth

to eat with. Their beak is on the octopus's bottom.

Octopus like to  eat  crabs, clams, snails, small fishes, and even other octopuses.

Body of speech.

I think the Octopus is awesome because they have eight slimy tentacles with lots

of sucker’s and use their tentacles to swim.

The octopus has venom in its beak just like a snake. They spit it at their tasty food

so they can't get away.

When the octopus gets scared it spits ink. The Octopus uses the ink to blind the predator to get away and not get eaten.

The giant pacific octopus has three hearts, nine brains and blue blood. Now that is

amazing.

Lastly we have the wheke on our school pou because it represents the wheke

that swims in the moana on the east coast which is the guardian of the

Maunga Puwheke.

Conclusion.

The  information I have found out about the Octopus is why I think it is amazing.

Thank you for listening to my speech.

My Pet Cat Chaco

My pet cat Chaco has a fat tummy.  She is black and white with a long skinny tail.

When she gets a fright her tail puffs up like a fluffy balloon.

Chaco is 3 years old and loves to cuddle me every day. When I get home from school she says “meow meow, meow.”

I love my cat Chaco, she is as cute as a button.

RM My Brilliant Bird Feeder

My Brilliant Bird Feeder - Learning group task.

WALT -
We are learning to design and create a bird feeder from natural and recycled materials.

Think about

Your reflection

Image.

Something new you learnt.

I learnt how to use step by step instructions to make something.

Step by step instructions made it easy to follow.

Something you found tricky.

Using the string.

I had to make sure I didn't cut the string too short or two long. If it was too short I couldn't tie the knot. If it is too long it will swing.

Something you enjoyed-

I enjoyed decorating my milk bottle.

Using the paints was fun and made my bird feeder look beautiful.
