We are learning all about Matariki.

What did I find interesting?

It is a time to plant trees and winter crops.

It is a time for making and flying kites.

It is a time to fish and gather kaimoana.

It is a time for sharing family stories.

Why did I think it was interesting?

l liked making and flying kites.

I liked fish and gather kaimoana.

What did I enjoy doing the most?

It is fun to making kites and fun to fly them.

Undersea Gardens

Learning Intention - I am learning to identify facts about seaweed and think about what we know and make connections to what we're reading.


I learnt that seaweed is algae and they don't have flowers or seeds -they have spores instead.

I thought the seaweed was interesting because you can make shampoo and ice cream and food.

Extraordinary Earthworms

Learning Intention - I am learning to use the information in this text to find out why earthworms are extraordinary.

They live underground in the garden and the sunlight hurts them .

Bubble Memories

We are sharing memories from our lockdown bubble.

First we did  our bubble memory writing in our writing book. We wrote about our bubble memory like who was in our bubble and what we liked most.    We used pictures from home or google explorer in our slides We had to insert the pictures.

Honeymakers

Learning Intention - I am learning how bees make honey and how beekeepers collect it for us to eat.

The bees get nectar from the flowers and The bees take the nectar back to the hive.

What do the bees live in?  hives

What is honeycomb? The bees store honey in them.

How do bees make honey?

What happens first?
The bees get nectar from the flowers.

What happens next?
The bees take the  nectar to the hive.

What happens last?
The bees beat their wings to make honey.
When the honeycomb is full of honey,the bees put wax over the top.
